Description
Assistant Teaching Professor to teach geospatial courses, advise students, and provide meaningful service to the Department of Geography at Miami University, a top-ranked, undergraduate-focused, liberal arts institution.
The successful candidate will contribute a range of courses on geospatial technologies and applications -- from the introductory to advanced -- to the department’s mission to apply integrative thinking and spatial reasoning skills to linked social and environmental challenges.
The successful candidate’s professional and/or pedagogical background could include applications including analyses of environmental systems (climate change, natural and human disturbance dynamics), social-economics (urban growth and development), and population patterns (habitat fragmentation, migration, etc.) and/or skills like Machine Learning, Object Detection, Remote Sensing, and Spatial Statistics/Quantitative Methods.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Required: Ph.D. in Geography or closely related discipline by time of appointment.
Consideration will be given to applicants with remote sensing and programming language experience.
